Dear Parents and Carers,
Please see below the finalised programme of activities for the Year 3 and for Year 4 Residential for Wednesday June 8th and Thursday June 9th 2023.
Wednesday 7th June
All children will need:-
School PE kit, (shorts, joggers, T-shirt and hoodies)
A sunhat and suncream or a suitable waterproof coat (depending on the weather)
A disposable packed lunch and water bottle (no items containing nuts or unhealthy treats)
Programme
8:35 come into school and register at 8:45
9:00 Coach leaves for Albury Estate and Newlands Corner
9:15 Year 3 dropped at Newlands Corner for Woodlands Adventures Activities
den building, knife skills, knots, climbing trees, walking on a rope, orienteering
9:30 Year 4 dropped at Albury Estate for Countryside Classroom Day
falconer, gundogs, forestry, beekeeping, trout farm, fishing, amphibians and reptiles
3:00 year 3 hike / year 4 brought by coach back to Sandfield School
4:00 year 3 collected by parents / year 4 prepare for overnight stay
Thursday 8th June 2023
8:35 Year 3 children in school with packed lunch as previous day
The children will need long trousers (joggers or leggings) gloves and hats for ice-skating. They will NOT need skates.
9:00 Year 3 children walk to Stoke Park for Challenge Day
scavenger hunt, wide games, ice-skating (at Spectrum), bowling (at Spectrum)
9:00 Year 4 children transported to Newlands Corner (parent cars – to be arranged) for
Woodlands Adventures Activities
den building, knife skills, knots, climbing trees, walking on a rope, orienteering
3:00 Year 3 walk back from Spectrum and Year 4 hike back from Newlands Corner
4:00 Parents collect children from school
Kit List for Year 4 Only
Please pack in a large rucksack or sports bag. No suitcases if possible.
Day time
Change of clothes for the next day – t-shirt (not vest tops or sleeveless), sweat top, trousers (leggings, trackies) or shorts, socks and underwear in carrier bag for next day.
Rain/ sunshine
Waterproof light jacket (and trousers)
Shoes – trainers/ walking boots
Sunhat, sunscreen
Night time
Towel, wash bag with flannel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste
Night clothes, dressing gown and slippers
Duvet and extra cover or sheet/ sleeping bag
Sleeping mat and pillow
Extras
Book and small cuddly toy
Torch
Water bottle
Packed lunch for the first day
No electronic toys, games or phones
Please pack the bag with your child so they recognise everything and know where it is, including a couple of spare carrier bags for dirty or wet clothes
Medicines
Please check that all medicine is in date, including any that are kept at school.
All medicine, inhalers, tablets etc. need to be clearly labelled with your child’s name and dosage and handed to the nominated member of staff on Wednesday morning.
Any medical information needs to be updated by Monday 5th June.
All food will be provided, please do not pack extra food for your child (except disposable lunch for Tuesday).
Everything must be clearly named!
