Community Links at Sandfield

Do you or any of your family have any skills or links to the community that Sandfield could benefit from? If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you.  Please let us know by completing the Parental Skills Form

Our Living Wall

The Ripley and Send Rotary Club made a very generous donation of £500 towards the new Living Wall, which has been built around the perimeter of Sandfield. Every child in the school planted a section of this wall and this incredible donation will be used to fund the cost of buying plants. The Eco Team are looking forward to researching which plants are best to help reduce the impact of pollution.

A huge thank you to The Rotary Club and Mr Ramcharan (Reuben and Matilda’s Grandad) for their part in supporting this exciting project.

Our Living Wall  focuses on education, health and the environment.  The Eco Team and all Sandfield pupils are involved, learning about the impact of air pollution, looking at live data and researching suitable plants for our living wall.  Sandfield will now be a case study and exemplar for other educational institutions, which are situated in busy urban areas.  We have even made the front page of The Guildford Dragon NEWS!

Parents, Carers, Grandparents, Governors and Friends

Parents, carers, grandparents, governors and friends also come into school in various ways including craft, reading, sport, handwriting and cookery.  The help of parents is vital to support events, trips and enrich learning. If you are able to support the school on a regular basis then please inform the school office so an appropriate location and induction programme can be organised.  Curriculum themes also provide regular opportunities for parents to come in and work alongside their children and see displays, presentations and assemblies.

Where financially possible, we always seek to use local contractors and suppliers e.g. Office Gold in Godalming, Guildford Lock and Safe, CEF in Guildford and so on.
