21st April 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our topic links with ‘Farms Animals and Life Cycles’ in the Summer term, Reception Class will be visiting Bocketts Farm Park in Fetcham on Monday 22nd May 2023.  The visit to the farm will enable the children to learn about young animals and how they are cared for on a farm and how they grow.  They will also have tractor rides and watching the piggies race!  They will have the chance to spend time on the farm and will also be able to feed the smaller animals.

We will be leaving school at 9:15am and returning from the farm at approximately 3.15pm, traffic permitting.  Many thanks to all those parents and carers that have volunteered to come with us.

The visit will cost £22.43 per pupil, which covers the cost of coach hire and all workshops.  Payment for this trip must be made via Scopay by noon on Wednesday 17th May 2023 at the latest.  We are able to help all pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals and/ or Pupil Premium.  Parents will need to make an appointment with Mrs Lidstrom to discuss what help is available and also discuss a payment plan for contributions.

If any other family is experiencing financial difficulty and would like to discuss payment of this visit, please contact Mrs Lucy Lidstrom, our home school link worker, either via Studybugs or email HSLW@sandfield.surrey.sch.uk, ahead of the deadline date.

Please send your child in wearing their school uniform, joggers and a coat if it is raining or a sun hat and apply sun cream before they arrive at school if it is hot.  Each child will also need wellingtons or suitable shoes for a day at the farm.

Pupils in Key Stage 1 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals and this must be ordered through the Aspens website at least two days before the date of the trip.  If you have already ordered a hot dinner, this will need to be changed to a packed lunch request. If you would like to provide your child with a packed lunch instead, please remember that these must not contain any items containing nuts, fizzy drinks, chocolate or other unhealthy treats in line with school policy.  Every child will need their water bottles, a snack and extra water and a backpack to carry everything in.

Please notify the School Office by email if there have been any changes to contact details or medical information on our records. As with all trips a risk assessment and preliminary visit has been carried out in preparation for this trip.

Let’s hope the sun shines!

Yours sincerely,

Suney Phillpot, Reception Class Teacher
