22nd February 2023

Dear Year 3 and Year 4 Parents and Carers,

Save the Day!

As part of our enrichment curriculum, we are offering an exciting 2 days of activities for the children in Year 3 and 4 on Wednesday 7th June 2023 and Thursday 8th June 2023.

To extend the challenge for Year 4, this will also include an overnight stay at school and they are already very keen to design their supper and breakfast, as well as exciting activities for the evening!

The learning objectives of this experience will be:

  1. Developing resilience, collaboration and independence skills.
  2. Building their “self-belief,” by trying something new.

We are still fine-tuning the activities for the two days but they will involve exploring the local countryside, hiking and problem solving. We will send out a more detailed programme before the end of term as well as a kit list for the children.

The estimated cost to Year 3 parents and carers will be about £30.00 for all activities and will be about £40.00 for Year 4 for all activities, the overnight stay, food and refreshments.  We will confirm the actual amount of contributions by the end of term as well as detail of how to pay online via Scopay.

Our aim is for all pupils to participate in these activities.  We are able to help all pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals and/ or Pupil Premium, however parents must make an appointment with Mrs Lidstrom to discuss what help is available and also discuss a payment plan for any contributions.  If any other family is experiencing financial difficulty and would like to discuss payment of this residential trip then please contact Mrs Lucy Lidstrom, our home school link worker, either via the school office or email HSLW@sandfield.surrey.sch.uk, ahead of the deadline date.

Many thanks for your continued support.
