S4K Breakfast Club cancelled after half term – replaced by Sandfield Morning Club

Dear Parents and Carers,

Sport4Kids have informed us that breakfast club will be cancelled after half term. The last day that families can book on to the S4K breakfast club is Friday 21st October. Attendance remains low, despite S4K and Sandfield promoting this service. S4K have made the decision that the breakfast club is not financially viable.

Having been a working parent myself with small children, I recognise the importance of having an option of morning child care. As a school, we want support those Sandfield families that regularly attend this breakfast club, we know for many of you this is an essential provision.

To that end, Sandfield staff have come together to offer a morning club. I am extremely grateful for those staff who have agreed to come in early in the mornings to run this club. Thank you 😊

The Sandfield Morning Club.”

Our offer

It would start at 7:30am – 8:30am, mirroring the S4Ks times and would be located in the new calm room in KS1. There would be a range of activities for children of all ages; Lego, board games, cards games, chess, colouring, creative activities and a range of books to read and enjoy. Sandfield will provide a calm, happy and safe place for your children in the mornings. If you would like your children to have breakfast, then please bring it in for your children to eat. Please be aware that we are not able to supply food.

Booking

Families will need to book via Scopay. The club will show under ‘products’ then: the term, the week commencing and then the individual day. The cost will be £3 per day, which covers additional staff costs and the extra resources that we have bought.

All bookings will need to be made by midday of the day before, so staff know exactly who will be attending the next day. There is a limited number of places available, so booking ahead is essential.

Families will be able to book the morning club sessions from Monday 17th October 2022.

Arriving

When you arrive with your child, there is a mobile number on the gates, which you will need to ring to alert the staff member of your arrival. This is the same arrangement as operated by S4Ks.

Sandfield School will always try our best to work in partnership with our families to make sure they feel fully supported.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Mrs Kate Collins
